5. Environmental Studies 

   - Ecology, natural resource management, and sustainability in rural contexts. 

6. Rural Sociology 

   - Social structures, caste dynamics, gender roles, and cultural practices in rural India. 

 

Semester 2:

Core Rural Development & Business Skills

1. Rural Economics

   - Demand-supply in rural markets, farm economics, and rural credit systems. 

2. Agricultural Marketing 

   - Supply chains, MSP (Minimum Support Price), APMCs (Agricultural Produce Market Committees), and e-NAM. 

3. Sustainable Development 

   - UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), eco-friendly practices, and rural livelihoods. 

4. Microfinance & Rural Banking 

   - SHGs (Self-Help Groups), NABARD schemes, Kisan Credit Cards, and cooperative banks. 

5. Quantitative Techniques

   - Statistics for rural data analysis, surveys, and decision-making. 

6. IT Applications in Rural Management 

   - Basics of digital tools (e.g., GIS mapping, MIS for rural projects). 

 

Semester 3:

Rural Governance & Livelihoods

1. Panchayati Raj & Rural Governance 

   - Decentralized governance, role of Gram Panchayats, and government schemes (MGNREGA, PMGSY). 

2. Livelihood Promotion Strategies 

   - Skill development, non-farm livelihoods (handicrafts, dairy, poultry), and entrepreneurship. 

3. Cooperatives & Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) 

   - Formation, management, and challenges of cooperatives/FPOs. 

4. Research Methodology 

   - Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA), focus group discussions, and data collection. 

5. Rural Infrastructure Development

   - Roads, irrigation, electrification, and digital connectivity (BharatNet).
